Continuous monitoring of bacterial biofilm growth using QCM-based sensors

A novel proposal has been made to develop a biofilm non-invasive and on-line monitoring technique using a multichannel measurement system based on QCM. It could significantly contribute to the knowledge of the biofilm growth dynamics, accelerating the research on diagnostic, treatment and prevention techniques.
